Dude, where’s my bike?

Park This!

Originally uploaded by Rodger Levesque

In Happy-Go-Lucky Poppy comes out of a bookstore, stops at the empty spot where her bike had been parked earlier. She says, “Oh no.” looks around a little and then, “I didn’t even get a chance to say good-bye.”

When she gets home, she tells her roommate that she’s decided to learn to drive a car.

For advocates of pedal power the issue of bike theft, or more positively, the ability to park your bike securely, arises at the beginning and end of each ride. The VPSN has looked into the issue and made a report of their findings. Check it out here.

You can also check out the audio of last nights presentation/discussion Park This! on Pedal Revolutionary Radio at 10:30am (in fifteen minutes!) today. Listen at 102.9fm in vancouver. The show will be archived for podcast listeners so you can check it out anytime.

This reminds me of the Peewee Herman film… his bike is stolen and then he walks around looking all heartbroken as he watches all the other people happily riding their bikes. Will definitely check out the podcast…

Invite us on a ride some time! My boy has a new bike and we are always looking for adventure… (picture “born to be wild” song…) lol

Summer vacation DAY ONE… That’s all we’ll be doing this summer — riding around the city looking for adventure. I’ll keep you posted.

Peewee’s Adventure is pure fantasy for anyone who’s ever stopped at the empty spot where their bike once was. I have friend who was riding the bus because his bike was stolen, and he sees some guy riding down the street on his bike. So he shouts for the bus to stop, chases his bike down. Turns out the guy bought the bike for 25 bucks and wouldn’t give it up without a refund. Not a bad deal.
